Art Gallery for Adults

In 2009, reading The Bible became a powerful source of healing and inspiration. That is the year Dr. Ashley began painting full-time, easily spending anywhere from 12 to 16 hours a day engaged with color and creativity. She began with watercolor, however her medium switched primarily to acrylic. At the start, Elana was primarily painting, however the nouveau artist also took pleasure in the creation of mixed media works of art.

For much of her life, she had been writing poetry and composing musical pieces. Verses, images and stories from The Bible not only inspired her to paint, but also to write new poems and songs. After reading a biblical selection, she might jump into the writing process. She never had mental blocks.  The words flowed easily.   Sometimes after completion of the written work [which could be one day, several days or more], the poem or song became the inspiration for a new painting.

Then again, upon completing a section of text or even reading just one verse, Ashley might suddenly grab a paint brush and start an artistic project which had unknown images and which proceeded down an unexplored, ever-changing pathway.  Once she completed a work of art, the painting or mixed media often became the kick-off of a new song or poem.

You are about to view a selection of original paintings and mixed media which form an integral part of Ashley's Biblical Art Collection.
